Data-Driven Transformation White Paper

The age of information has become the age of data that has become the age of personalization. On its very core: Data.

Found.ation, together with EIT Digital, has created a white paper on Data-Driven Transformation.

As every Industrial Revolution has commanded so far, on the brink of the 4th era, radical transformation processes are undergoing across all industry sectors. The hidden opportunity now lies on the use of the abundance of information for the benefit of the enterprises, enabling them to offer a better experience to users. The age of information has become the age of data that has become the age of personalization. On its very core: Data.

Enterprises of all levels are orienting their efforts towards the collection and analysis of data in order to implement user-centered design strategies. Designing the right strategy and turning raw data into useful insights is not an  easy task. With the objective to help businesses navigate this new landscape, Found.ation, with the support of EIT Digital, partnered with 4 pioneers of innovation and digital change of the Greek ecosystem. The team worked with the objective to understand the  challenges and produce tangible suggestions for the road ahead. To add to this goal, a closed Executive Workgroup was organized with leading decision makers, all in charge of the digital transformation efforts in their organizations (big and medium enterprises). This analysis focuses on their conceptions of innovation, the challenges and hurdles that they collectively identify, and their needs regarding the insights and outputs they expect from Digital Transformation.

Our 4 main contributors: Konstantinos Champidis (Chief of Staff, Ministry of Digital Governance), Elena Chrisafogeorgou (Customer Experience Manager at Philip Morris International), Panos Milias (Digital Acceleration Manager at Nestlé Hellas), Yannis Papakostas (Head of the Digital Innovation Division at Alpha Bank).

Some key points from the white paper:

  • Sustainable strategies for innovation need a mentality of experimentation
  • Multidisciplinary teams aligned to business objectives are more efficient than independent project actors
  • In customer-centred business development, technology is a tool rather than a driving factor
  • HR departments need to adapt, hiring for talent and targeted soft skills such as initiative and creativity
